A short distance off the beaten path, The St. James-Santee Brick Church at Wambaw, near McClellanville, is full of Georgain and Palladian details. And it served as the perfect inspirational stop on the way back from a visit to a job site in Georgetown County.

The church is just down the Old King's Highway from Hampton Plantation. As we found out, it's
probably not the best idea to trek there the day after a hard rain.
